what does "strong moderator" mean?
Response from the Mothership and heavy participation on trying to help the new guys get off the ground.

how will this lead to increased participation?
Many new FG's have started this year and some are further along than others. It may be due to hard work and determination, others may be overwhelmed. This way we can all get information as it is available or generate questions where we are stuck.

i usually think about moderation as needed when there is *too much*
information and the signal-to-noise ratio is dropping,
so a moderator checks to make sure a post is on-topic before allowing
it.
That is true, maybe moderator was a bad choice of a word (GRIN)

i think the lack of response to any given email has more to do with a
lack of time to post information.
none of the workers at any of the freegeeks is going to have a great
deal of time to put into the global community,
so we've tried to encourage wiki documentation as much as possible
from every side.
i know you've looked through the wiki and are looking for answers not
to be found therein,
but that's not always the case
(hmm,
if we had a list-bot that searched for bits of people's email
questions on the wiki and posted any corresponding results,
this means of dissemination might feel more present
    (but then,
i dream up bots to solve every problem.
i should make a bot for saying "we should build a bot to do that"
    to every problem.)
).
for needing to ask for documentation that doesn't exist,
or that wouldn't make sense in a wiki format,
i think the startups list is the only thing that has been available
for that discussion if you didn't know exactly who to email with a
direct question.
this is the correct crowd to keep this in,
but a slightly mis-purposed context.

Thanks Martin :o)
