  well, about this x file! (no, not the show)
  all our monitor testers are debian sarge boxes, so they
  use Xfree86, to get a picture on all monitors i added
  all identical pci video cards to a box (no agp card)
  and ran:

  "X -configure"
  this creates a XF86config-4 file in the /root directory
  with all the proper settings for the multiple cards,
  i then tweaked the "Server Layout" section so the same
  image shows through each monitor

  this should work for xorg, creating an xorg.conf file instead.
  
  i will try it using xorg and post the file if i get it to work
