Aloha, FreeGeeks.
Friday and Saturday I spent most of my time with the kind folks at
FreeGeek Portland, as well as a handful of folks from start-up FreeGeeks
throughout the nation.
We had the first "Intergalactic Congress", during which we discussed the
FreeGeek franchise application, ways in which the mothership can help
startups, and ways in which startups can help one another.
I took a lot of photos. You can see them here:

Feel free to comment, tag, and annotate. For those who were there,
please share your photos somewhere!
I found it _supremely_ helpful to see the day-to-day operation of
FreeGeek in action. A lot of what I had read on the FreeGeek wiki was
abstract information that I found hard to translate into useful
nuts-and-bolts application. I've tried to describe the photos to help
others understand how things work there, in the hopes that someone else
shares my "ah-ha!" moment.
