[freegeek-startup] All Free Geek meeting in July

[That Man Behind the Curtain]

Several folks from other Free Geeks will be in the Portland area as a
result of OSCON being in Portland the week of July 24-28.

We thought it'd be useful to get together as many of us as possible to
meet up, answer questions, chat about a little business, and give people
a hands on look at the Mothership.

Here's the schedule of Free Geek related events, timed to work with
OSCON. (You don't need to attend OSCON to participate in any of this.
It's all free and open to anyone.)

Tuesday through Friday, July 25-28

- noon and six: Regular tours through Free Geek.

  Come and see the facility and learn about our volunteer programs.

Friday, July 28

- noon: Regular Free Geek Tour
- 6:00 pm: Regular Free Geek Tour
- 7:15 pm to whenever: Welcome to the Mothership

  Meet the volunteers and staff that run the mothership. Orientation.
Meet folks from other Free Geeks. Take a tour of the facility geared
towards startup Free Geeks. Tell us what you want to learn in depth
about while in Portland, and we'll tell you who to hook up with. Hang
out and go out for beer afterwards.

Saturday, July 29

- 9:30-11 am Free Geek Startups Event: Free Geek Intergalactic, the
Umbrella Organization

  Discuss how we can cooperate on projects to make it easier for
existing and new startups. Learn how to become an official Free Geek and
be allowed to use the name.

- 11 am - 7 pm: Hands on Learning

  Free Geek will be open for a regular day of business. Connect with
folks doing actual work, help 'em out, pester 'em with questions, and
learn how we do what we do and why we do it that way. Put a face on that
irc handle or email address!

Sunday, July 30

If we want to use it, we've set aside this day for any other type of
business or discussions we may want to conduct. This will depend on
people flight schedules and such. Details will be settled on Friday
night the 28th.

Please include your name, which Free Geek you're from (or your town).

Also indicate which of the above you'll want to attend.

Finally, if you need a place to stay, say so. We're looking into
accommodations for visitors.
