HAPPY HOLIDAYS - 2006 was filled with growth and accomplishments.  Thanks to our volunteers and donors we were able to provide over 2,000 computers to underserved communities and donate 21 websites to non profit organizations around the world.

1. NEW LOCATION!

The InterConnection Computer Reuse and Learning Center moved to a more comfortable and brighter facility.  We are now located on the northeast end of Seattle's Lake Union, 2222 N Pacific St.  Our new facility has heated classroom and work area for volunteers and better access for computers donors.  http://computers.interconnection.org

Have you seen our website lately?  It recently received a facelift.  Thanks to the Paraguayan website design company "Internet Estudio" our site is easier to navigate, includes updated content and is more stylish.  Next, we plan to launch a Spanish version. http://www.interconnection.org

We receive an overwhelming number of requests for laptop computers from non-profits abroad.  You can help by donating your laptop.  If you can't bring it to the center in Seattle we will pay shipping costs.  Contact us for details. info at interconnection.org

7.  BOARD MEMBERS SOUGHT

InterConnection plans to expand its board of directors in 2007. New members will be selected from the Seattle area.  We are hoping to add members with experience in grant writing, nonprofit management, international development, accounting or Internet technology.  If you believe in InterConnection's mission and have experience or resources that could add value to InterConnection's work, please contact us for a board member application. info at interconnection.org

Computers will be used to provide quality training and access to the latest technology to under-served communities in Puerto Barrios, Guatemala.

420 Sefrioui-Badissy Foundation, Morocco, December
Sefrioui-Badissy Foundation (SBF) is a public, non-profit organization dedicated to providing technology access and community-based training to impoverished African students – giving them the knowledge and tools necessary for participation in the global market and improving their lives. 

18 Toledo Development Corporation, Belize, December
Shipment arranged by Peace Corps volunteer Tim Dami for two schools to improve Primary School Exam scores.

20 Connect Education, El Salvador, October 
Computers will be used to establish a computer lab that will be the basis for the technological connection between children in El Salvador and sponsors in the United States.

440 Fundación Todo Chilenter, Chile, October 
Chilenter works to bridge the digital divide in Chile by providing information and communication resources to underserved communities. 

201 Computers for the World, Montevideo, Uruguay, April
35 computers donated to several schools and orphanages at selected locations in Montevideo, Uruguay. The remaining computers donated to Uruguay Rotary District 4980 for redistribution to other local Rotary clubs that serve areas surrounding Montevideo and the eastern countryside. Approximately 2000 youth will benefit from this project.

25 World Vision, Zambia, October 2006
Computers will be used to complement primary school education and vocational training for youth and adult literacy in a community learning center in Kabaleka Village in Zambia.
