my greattest concern would be with the volunteer/staff dynamic. Having a
space in Portland means we can let just about anyone come help
volunteer. If there is a problem we can deal with it and it more or less
is handled and contained within our walls. If there is an issue on the
site of a client then different challenges arise.
Also storage becomes an issue. Do you build the computers for your
volunteers (or thrift store) on site? Where do you hold on to the
materials. You get a better price for more materials. If you are doing
all the driving then you are paying for the insurance, trucks and gas?
on the whole I am super stoked about this prospect. best luck to you up
north
