Hi Shawn,
Sure is great that your are thinking about this... wish I could offer
something concrete on this, insurance and liability issues has always been
something intimidating to me. I've talked about this issue with various
GEEKs and seems the general consensus is, yes there are always going to be
injuries, sometimes sticthes may be required (why are computers so sharp?),
but generally the kind of people who participate on these types of projects
won't try to sue you. And as long as you are not negligent, ie you have a
first aid kit, emergency numbers posted somewhere and follow other safety
best practices, it's not likely they will be able to sue you. Still you
need to to do your due dilligence and find out what policies are out there,
let us know what you find out!

btw, I know of at least two volunteers who have dropped monitors on there
feet, but that's nothing, once I dropped a Sun Enterprise Server 400 on my
foot, fortunately nothing was broken but I sure limped for a couple days.
