When you are in "provisional" status with your 501(c)(3) how are the donors allowed to file the donation (is there anything different for filing compared to being a full 501(c)(3)?

How do you prove to your donors that you are a legal non-profit until the 4-5 years is up? In today's age, many people are leary and want solid proof they are giving the objects and money to a legimate cause.

So much to learn, and so little time. I would like to push our starting goal up to 11/1/06. Does this sound feasible to do within two months. I please need some feedback on this and what should all be prepared initially to make this happen.

Thanks again...

Shawn

The 5-6 years is I think more like 4-5 years.

More importantly, donations are tax-deductable from the getgo though.
(You don't have to wait the 5 years.)
