Hello there, everyone! Since Oso and I have been so busy organizing it, the
newsletter this month will be dedicated exclusively to Geek Fair! Our annual
street fair looks to be an awesome celebration this year. Check out the web
page at http://freegeek.org/geekfair.

Geek Fair Five! (as it's been coined this year) will start at 1pm and go until
7pm this Saturday, July 16th. It'll all be happening at Free Geek: outside
on the street and inside in the nice, cool air conditioning. Geek Fair Five!
is a free event for all ages.

The street party will have two stages of live music and delicious organic food
& refreshments. There will be tons of fun stuff to check out, including:

* “Geek Arena” game show,
* Smash-tacular! (you get to go all “Office Space” on a printer of your
choosing),
* Eco-friendly info. booths,
* Video gaming room,
* Video screenings,
* Book sale
* A dunk tank, and
* Kids' activities, with help from SCRAP (we love SCRAP!).

You'll also be able to bid on fabulous items at our silent auction or peruse
Free Geek's thrift store.

Geek Fair Five! will be showcasing several geeked-out local performers,
including: Beliss, Dorado, The Black Peppercorns, Empty Room, Like a Circus
Fire, Raina Rose, The Sprockettes, Trashcan Joe, Tre Music and Dan Mills,
Vivian's Keeper, SweetJuice, and The Vulturines. Expect fun-filled
performances from mutant-bike crews Chunk 666 and the Clown House, as well as
creative laughs from The Circus of Tiny Invisibility from New Orleans.

You'll also learn about some of Free Geek's most appreciated volunteers at our
Volunteer Recognition Ceremony (consider this an alternative to our regular
Volunteer of the Month section).

Geek Fair Five! is sponsored by Free Geek and the following local businesses
and organizations: Backspace, CD Baby, The City Repair Project, KBOO 90.7 FM
Community Radio, Roots Organic Brewery, SCRAP, and Southeast Uplift
Neighborhood Program.

If you'd like to help out by volunteering on the day of Geek Fair, please
